National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS)

National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) provides support to young scholars on their path to becoming tomorrow’s leaders. NSHSS’s co-founder is Claes Nobel, Alfred Nobel’s grand-nephew, and since 2002 the NSHSS has gained over 1.7 million members in over 170 countries. The National Society of High School Scholars makes it their mission to honor those high school students with the highest achievement and recognize academic excellence by providing resources and a network to transcend through college, their career, and in their community. NSHSS was established more than 17 years ago to continue the legacy of the Nobel family of acknowledging and rewarding excellence.

The NSHSS Foundation provides young scholars with resources and possibilities to progress their academics, individual development, and professional interests through special programs such as the NSHSS Honor Society. The NSHSS Foundation promotes the development of graduates who are a part of the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), sustainability, environmental science, public policy, economics, and business fields. The NSHSS Foundation places special emphasis on increasing the representation of African Americans, Asians, Hispanics, Native Americans, and females in careers where these targeted groups are under-represented.

With a one-time $75 membership fee to NSHSS, young scholars are provided with a plethora of resources to promote a seamless transition from high school, to college, and onward. The vision of the National Society of High School Scholars is to create a global network of high achieving scholars and help them in becoming the next generation of influence-driven leaders in their schools, careers, and in their local communities. The Nobel Spirit is embodied in the Society, its mission, its values, and its student members.

National Society of High School Scholars is a distinguished academic honor society that is devoted to honoring and helping the highest-achieving student scholars in more than 26,000 high schools.
